| B216.Russian badge for the nuclear ballistic missile submarine K-64 Delta IV-class, later designated as BS-64 “Podmoskovye”. Commissioned in December 1986, K-64 served as a strategic nuclear submarine in the Northern Fleet. In 1999, it was withdrawn from active ballistic missile service and underwent a major multi-year conversion into a special-purpose “mothership” submarine platform. Renamed BS-64 Podmoskovye in 2002/2008, it had its missile compartment removed to carry deep-diving midget submarines for oceanographic research and special operations. |
