Laid down at the Amur Shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in September 1986, launched in July 1987,
and commissioned into the Pacific Fleet in December 1988. Officially named Kashalot (“Sperm Whale”) in April 1993,
it served in the 45th and 10th Submarine Divisions before being decommissioned in 2019
