in Komsomolsk-on-Amur in November 1993, launched in August 1994, and commissioned into the Pacific Fleet in July 1995.
Originally named Drakon upon commissioning, it inherited the prestigious Guards St. Andrew’s flag from the decommissioned
K-133 in 1997. In August 1999, it was officially renamed Samara after establishing a patronage relationship with the city of Samara
