B220.Russian badge for the nuclear-powered strategic ballistic missile submarine K-44 “Ryazan” Delta III-class.
Commissioned in November 1982 into the Soviet Northern Fleet, K-44 was renamed Ryazan in 1998.
Notably, in June 1995, it launched a Volna rocket carrying commercial mail, earning a spot in the Guinness
World Records for the world’s fastest mail delivery. It made a historic Arctic transit to the Pacific Fleet
in 2008 and served as the absolute last operational Delta III-class SSBN in the Russian Navy until its retirement.
