B221.Russian badge for the nuclear-powered strategic ballistic missile submarine K-51 “Verkhoturye” Delta IV-class.
Commissioned in December 1984, K-51 was the lead ship of the Delta IV class. Serving in the Northern Fleet,
it was given the name Verkhoturye in 1999 following a patronage arrangement with the Sverdlovsk regional government.
It underwent major mid-life refits and modernizations (including upgrading to Sineva SLBM capability)
and has been one of the longest-serving active SSBNs in the Russian Navy.
